Summary
Many African, Caribbean and Pacific countries have prioritised enhancing youth engagement in public-private dialogues (PPDs) to drive economic development and combat youth unemployment. Despite this, young people often find themselves marginalised from participation in PPDs aimed at improving the business environment for youth economic empowerment.

Our panelists for the event entertained a lively debate about the latest ICReport on promoting youth participation in public-private dialogue to foster business environment reform for youth economic empowerment, which was just published.

- Meet John Youhanes Magok, the Founder and Executive Director of the Nile Youth Development Actions (NYDA) and Mineral Resource Development Expert at the African Union as part of AU Youth Volunteer Corps (AUYVC) Programme.
- Meet Shedron Collins, the General Manager at Youth Business Trinidad and Tobago (YBTT). Shedron drives the organisation’s mission to empower young individuals in establishing profitable and sustainable businesses.
- Meet Dr. Marcia Brandon, the Co-Founder and Managing Director of the Caribbean Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Livelihoods (CoESL). She is a hands-on expert in women and youth economic empowerment, entrepreneurship, NGO management, sustainability planning, mentoring, leadership, youth development, and partnership building.
- Meet Ruth Namachanja Khakame, the Youth Chairperson at Central Organization of Trade Unions in Kenya (COTU K), where she also represents the youth voices at the Executive Board. Currently she is a youth committee member of the International Trade Union Confederation (Brussels, Belgium) and served as the ITUC Africa Youth President (2020 – 2023).
