Context

The technical assistance aimed to develop technical studies and provide advisory services that will improve the capacity of the association MPME to better engage in public-private dialogue, and enhance the participation of smaller enterprises and women led enterprises in these public private dialogue (PPD) spaces in Côte d’Ivoire.

Objective

The intervention intended to develop tools that generate data to identify bottlenecks and opportunities of support for these enterprises. The request contributes to increase the inclusiveness of  PPD in Côte d’Ivoire and tackle a more conducive business environment for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) which are the largest source of employment in the country.

Result

The intervention helped to improve MPME’s ability to better engage in public-private dialogue, and strengthened the participation of small and medium enterprises led by women in these spaces of public-private dialogue in Côte d’Ivoire. The TA further develop tools that will help MPME to generate data to identify bottlenecks and Support opportunities for these SME’s. As a tangible outcome, MPME has applied these methods and tools to make policy recommendations to the ministry of finance. This result of that was that the time limit for recovering deductible VAT was extended from 3 months to 12 months from invoicing.
