Opportunities and Challenges for Crowdfunding in ACP Countries
The growth of the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) sector is one of the priority issues for economic development in ACP countries. SMEs are among the motors of job creation and GDP growth. They make an important contribution to economic diversification, social stability, and territorial prosperity. However, SMEs are still struggling with the problem of access to finance. It is at the core of this disparity that crowdfunding appears to be a complementary tool, adapted to the search for equity capital for businesses. How can crowdfunding be more widely used in ACP countries? Why should public policies take regulatory action to promote the development of crowdfunding?
