Date: 27 May 2025

Time: 15h30 – 17h00 (CEST)

Location: Online

Languages: English, French and Spanish through simultaneous interpretation

This webinar presents the research findings of the latest ICReport series entitled “Enhancing the evidence base for gender-transformative Business Environment Reforms in selected OACPS member states”.

The aim of this research was to assess how recent reforms in three ACP countries have translated into progress for women on the ground, asking the question: to what extent have these reforms advanced women’s (economic) empowerment in their context of reference?

The following ICReports will be discussed:

  • Summary – Women’s economic empowerment through business environment reforms: Lessons from the ACP Region.
  • Rwanda: 20 years of land reforms and their impact on Women’s Economic Empowerment.
  • Access to finance in the Dominican Republic: A review of gender-responsive reforms and women’s economic empowerment.

  • Marriage and Inheritance Laws in Côte d’Ivoire: Implications for Women’s Economic Empowerment

This webinar provides stakeholders across the ACP region, international partners and development practitioners to discuss research findings and opportunities to continue advancing women’s economic empowerment through peer-to-peer learning.

This webinar is the culmination of a research project supported by the ICR Facility and commissioned by its donors – the European Union, the Organization for Africa, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the British Council. The research was carried out by Intellera Consulting and its consortium partners.
