The DFI Exchange Group is a platform for all DFI-related knowledge sharing and group activities of the ICR Facility and provides DFIs with the opportunity to share and showcase their best practices and experiences with peers. Once per quarter, we facilitate peer sessions where DFIs can come together to meet on a specific topic of their choice to interactively exchange on with peers. Session 3 of the DFI Exchange Group will focus on the Green Climate Fund.

Objective
This session aims to present the experiences of the Environmental Investment Fund of Namibia in their (re-)accreditation process to the GCF. The EIF will provide valuable insights into navigating these processes effectively, and detail the journey of both initial accreditation and re- accreditation, a comparison of the processes, key milestones and timelines, as well as share lessons learned and tips for other DFIs considering GCF accreditation.
Additionally, there will be an input from the GCF’s Readiness and Preparatory Support Programme and on its new Readiness Strategy 2024-2027. The Readiness Programme aims to enhance the capacity of national institutions to efficiently engage with the GCF. This includes support to strengthen institutional capacities, governance mechanisms, and planning and programming frameworks towards a transformational long-term climate action agenda.
The presentations will be followed by an interactive Q&A.
